I'm not sure if keeping his death and identity secret is any better than giving her the false hope that he's still alive. Sure, learning about his fate would make her sad, but at least they can still talk now. It's pretty much the same case with her dog.

I wonder what he means about not having powers too. He was able to interact with objects, after all, and even soften the impact between her and the car.
