I forgot to TS in a small note, but the word Will use for Yoki's game can be both cheating/counterfeit/fake. He uses the same word twice but it kinda didn't work in English well. Will is often really annoying to translate because he speaks both roughly and smartly.

This was actually one of my theories. (And I was right about Raimon being a robot really early on). TLer himself, however thinks it's gonna be something different and has a theory from when we first saw the ruined Vivarium: he had proposed the theory that Yoki's lot live in the future, not the past. However, numbers started being re-counted which means they have a lower date-number but are in the future.

Given the title, there’s no time travel involved. The main setting is a Vivarium: a little artificial environment, like Biosphere 2. Assuming this to be true, then obviously for whatever reason, the inhabitants are supposed to be kept ignorant that they aren’t living in the real world, so when somebody from outside is caught they claim to be from the future. (Presumably there’s some Big Problem that the vivarium occupants are being shielded from — high radiation levels after a nuclear war, or some kind of disease, something like that — and that’s what the 3-minute limit really is for.)
