That was the end? It's like the mangaka said "OK, this may look like it's still totally up in the air but come on, it's a shoujo romance, so we'll just skip the next few chapters with the guy gradually falling for the girl and just sort of assume they'll happen, OK?"
Up to that point it's a nice little shoujo romance with pleasant, if standard, characters. But it looks like it totally got axed in the most abrupt way, to the point where the mangaka only got to re-do the last couple of pages or something.

This was SO good! But far too short. It seemed rushed but is still a fine story.
A sweet story with solid art & interesting characters, should have a dozen more chapters at a minimum.
