As a child, we see that she and Daiki both had similar hobbies, and she doesn't seem to hate acting like a tomboy. I'm pretty sure she is a tomboy but just prefers having a feminine aesthetic when she isn't with Daiki.

Add that she also purposely avoids showing her tomboy side to her friends to the point where she doesn't know how to act if she met both Daiki and one of her friends at the same time.
But yeah, the manga shows her way to deal with both her personas when she's actually both of them but afraid of coming out clean to either Daiki or her friends.

Do remember that this tomboy style is only a disguise she throws on for daiki, so i imagine rather than a love rival, its gonna be to expose that fact next chapter.

Honestly, I don't know how she managed to avoid meeting her friends on the street whenever she goes out with Daiki. It's not like they go to far away or unpopular places besides the family trip. Next chapter she'll probably have to deal with her friends when basketball guy tells how she was dressed at the event. More than telling about seeing her hanging out with Daiki since they already know about her "childhood friend".

Not gonna lie but this is a really genius take. A childhood friend romcom where they're in different schools yet still hang out as usual. And now someone from Wakaba's school has seen her in another side. I really got invested during the chapter where her friend visited her during she was sick and met Daiki. It's such a natural respond for the friend you know in school and the friend you know the longest to just start having tension. And now this? Let's see what happens next.

Which is hilarious as she is the one impeding any progress. Instead of teasing him in and being chill out about it. She shows him her real side but teases the absolute fuck out of him whenever possible. Hence its like taking 4 steps forward and 3 steps backwards.

I wouldn't say she's entirely outgrown it, because she does seem to genuinely enjoy playing sports with Daiki and when she goes to hang out with her friends, she seldom actually comes up with any ideas for what they should do as a group, instead just kind of following them around.

Regardless, I think I'd be pretty funny if she dressed like she does around her school friends and doesn't bring any attention to that fact during a hangout with Daiki, so while he stammers about, she just acts like nothing happens.
