Interesting historical piece . Imagine a nation actually trying to take responsibility for the abhorrent actions of its forebears.

Some cognitive dissonance with the friendly tone contrasting against the illustration of racism and genocide (yes, I know the target audience is grade schoolers), but at least they're trying.

Technically the Geniva Convention as we know it was created in 1949. The manga is probably supposed to be referring to the Hague Convention. Not that the author is really wrong about what they mean, but it's interesting to see.
