Meh I'm still satisfied, even though the ending was pretty rushed for sure. our sweet cinnabun got everything she deserves in the end <3! And honestly the way she finally learned to smile conscious is kinda poetic. Just as her co-worker said, she's terrible at doing things for herself... But ofc she excels when it's for others. Feeling like she had to smile for Hanako's smile to return is what triggered it. And that's also what the last panel means by "original intention." She smiles and remembers how to because she remembers that if she smiles, Hanako smiles.

Though yeah... Few loose ends that haven't been tied up. Like how about finding out about how her mom is an ex-delinquent? And seriously... It woulda been nice to have at least a full volume (17 chapters for this manga) to revel in sotomura finally getting what she deserves.

At any rate, I recommend Watamote. It's about someone who starts out pathetic for the first few volumes (legit depressing), but then you see lots and lots of progress over the course of many volumes at a satisfying pace. You see the character progress in so many ways and situations, and you're given lots of time to enjoy the satisfaction.

Having reread this, senior year was condense within a single volume while we had more chapters for every other year. It's a shame- (I better get started writing a proper conclusion to this series.)
A lot of plot developments are dated, but it's still a good lighthearted series to come back to.

Don't let this fool you from the fact that we never saw Yukari again after Himeki introduction on chapter 38. I'm disappointed too because I liked Yukari more than Himeki.

Well that aside this manga was decent, the start was generic with how much they repeated jokes but as they introduced more characters the manga got more entertaining (even if they still repeated jokes). The ending was way to rushed though, kinda put a damper on the manga to be honest.
