What a fucking ridiculous bait-and-switch

The first chapter in the manga was genuinely a bomb dropped on my head, i felt like i had found an amazing series—a romcom blending sweetness, pure friendship, and the journey of healing the hearts of two people

But NO. I don't believe any adaptation could have realized that brilliant potential. And, just as I expected, it turned into a shitty harem where more and more side girls gradually appear, while the female lead gets pushed into the background, basically shoving the male lead together with other girls. Meanwhile, the male lead is a fucking useless idiot who refuses to stand by his own convictions

You can take Chapter 10, Part 2 of the light novel as a reference

Pick out a few scenes as examples
The FL going to the bathroom just to create an opportunity for the ML to get all cozy with "someone else"
ML simply letting "someone else" touch him, hug, and maybe kiss(i can't fuking read all that shit, so i'm not sure), then getting embarrassed and blushing about being hand-in-hand with "someone else", even though he’s already done all that shit with his ex-girlfriend
The FL getting along well with the others, while all those “others” are targeting the male lead

You could say that the author dug up that ancient, shitty trope and recycled the absolute hell out of it
