In the absence of actually romantic moments like confessions, kisses, dates... hell, even handholding with mutual attraction will do if we lower the bar; the content is GL subtext at best if one tries really hard to justify it. This would've benefited from more pages to properly set up the actual GL and make it believable (and the gut punch would've hit harder too).
