I'm honestly surprised they revealed 'her' so early-on, whereas she wasn't shown like this at all in the WN.

Yes, that's definitely Rorona lying in bed at the end there. The plot of events was already explained a few times, including @Tatsuya-Kai 's input, but still, knowing what to expect, I didn't expect her to be shown like that at the end at all.
