This chapter has a lot of Sano seemingly not really caring about Kazuaki.

She's the only one that doesn't seem to be distressed by the fact that he's staying back with her sister, (she's even smiling in panel 5-1 while everyone has their face shadowed) and despite being included in the 3-way split at the top of p9, she's the only one that doesn't have a dialogue bubble arrow thing (what're those called, anyways?) connecting her to the shocked "!!" I'm pretty sure she's also meant to be the one asking "so it's not who loses?" afterwards, implying that she doesn't see why bringing him over would be a reward. Plus, after Rui wins, she the only loser that seems fine with the outcome. (and she excitedly sends her off, too.)

I remember seeing people theorizing in the threads of some earlier chapters that she wasn't actually romantically interested him but was rather trying to use him to get close with the girls, but this chapter actually makes me think that that might be the case. It turning out that she "wasn't into him" would be pretty thematically appropriate, too.

It does make you wonder how this thing's going to end, though, because the other girls definitely all give off losing heroine vibes.

I'd be shocked if it was revealed that Sano was into him at all. Though I think we'll definitely get an Arc where he's convinced of that for a while.

As for the losing heroine thing...

What if he was right? The older sister did like him and was flirting with him, but some kind of circumstances forced her to marry that other dude (look how far apart they're sitting at the wedding) and she still has feelings for Kazuaki. Then we might get an attempted affair arc, or pursuit from a divorcee.
