I get you can't help who you fall for but I mean he kinda just on his own just assumed they should be together and then tried to corner her into being with him and then Minato made it clear she doesn't see him romantically and loves him as kind older brother. At that point you kinda gotta be honest with yourself and see if you can handle hanging out with her despite that or if you need space, unfortunately he made the worst of both decisions and possibly has something else cooking up he'll come to regret woth whatever was going on with that phone call
