Her husband is unfaithful to her, is abusive towards her and has done absolutely nothing to support her in her grief. So is it really surprising that she finds her husband unreliable? Is it surprising that she doesn't trust him? He didn't stay by her side at all.
Did we read the same story? Sure, the husband sleeps around, that much is confirmed.
But didn't support her in her grief? Didn't stay by her side? She locked herself away for months, completely shutting him out despite his efforts, and then came out swinging with the most insane shit in the world. What's he supposed to do? Support her in this delusion like Doubara?
How is he abusive? There were two scenes that could be construed as "abuse", and both were him attempting to make her face the reality that their child is dead, shock her back to her senses, admittedly in a crude way, but both times she again shut him out, ignored it, and forged ahead on her ridiculous path.
Doesn't help that their (supposedly) mutual friends focus on her exclusively while more or less ignoring him, everyone's talking shit about him either to his face or behind his back, his mother basically told him to "your child's dead, but you gotta nut up now", later following up with "maybe if you had another child..." (compare and contrast with Doubara's mother telling him that a parent losing their child is the most tragic thing), and the most support he ever got in his own grief is from his boss of all people, who told him to take time off work.
Meanwhile, don't forget that he also lost his son. Haruji is clearly showing signs of an intense depression, he drinks like a fish, smokes, doesn't take care of himself or his surroundings, distracts himself with women (admittedly a shitty thing to do), and lashes out, and everyone around him either doesn't give a shit, or blames him for his suicidal delusional wife running off on a mystery quest. All he ever got is pitiful whispers about him, but no support. No words of encouragement. And then his wife, the one person he expected to share in his grief and truly understand, comes with the cuckoo reincarnation stuff, that's when he lost it.

Reread the story sometime, and try to see the husband not as "the man who isn't the protagonist", but a human. And he might not be a paragon of morality or upstanding character, but he's not some cruel villain. He's just a guy who's expected to bear all the weight on his own, and indulge his wife in her delusions, just because he's "the man", and he breaks under it.

1) when someone dies, you have to organize the funeral and the bereavement processes. Their son died 3 months ago. All he did was be present when Mio confirmed their sons identity. He doesn't maintain the altar.

2) if your first instinct is to grab and shout at your partner, that's a good sign there's abuse happening. There are many ways of being abusive. He's emotionally abusive towards her - moved in an affair partner as soon as she left (2 months after their son died), long standing infidelity, long standing arguments, never contacted the police when she went missing. He disregards her feelings. He blames her for the way others treat him based on the way he treats her).

3) Being supportive is being present for your loved ones.

Mio cannot rely upon him. So is it suprising that she doesn't look to him for support? All she got was verbal abuse for making him lose face. All she saw was affair partners being marched in and out of the house.

If your loved ones locked themselves in, they've still got to eat, drink and shit. If we believe him, he stopped making food. What's more likely, Mio had to get her own supplies and relieve herself whenever he left the house for work.

In regards to her belief - a belief that your son has reincarnated is not a harmful belief. Religions demand that we believe in crazier things after all. A supportive partner would have listened to her and tried to understand why she's holding the beliefs. it is not supportive to ridicule her and send her constant messages ridiculing her belief.

Her belief became harmful because it turned into expression of her suicidal ideation. However, he never talked to her and figured out that was where her belief was. He just immediately ridiculed and mocked her.

Haruji has clearly emotionally checked out of the marriage a long time ago. He does not love his wife at all. He is just a shitty guy, a shitty unreliable guy. His grief does not excuse his actions.

For the sake of the plot progression, I'd rather not talk about details, but in terms of ending: they end as friends.

The next few chapters are super important and meaningful, and I'd rather you experience that blind (as far as understanding what's happening, because anyone could peek at raws).
I don’t think there was a chance at romance for them. I don’t even know why I’m reading this story anymore. That lady needs therapy

Like I told the other guy, I hope you genuinely stick around to the end.
