Huh, interesting character info this chapter, Maria's family is clearly living in a rundown apartment, their walls and plates had visible cracks in them, and with no parents in sight at dinner we can guess they are somewhat poor, and 1 or both parents have to work late to try and provide to the family, let's see how this plays out in the story as a whole.
