Yeah, that's what feels off for me too. but so far, It did look like "he" didn't kill her but more like failed to save her. his "yandere" side in this chapter also direct to "the others who close with her" instead of her too.
We got julian and her chamberian who is most likely the one who send twins assassin to FMC and from what the twins said, he's also have yandere eyes like cyrus so it's gonna connect the dot somehow.
A few chapter ago while they're dating and he asked about "do you know about spell" then surprising when she said she didn't know. I guess it's might be some sort of ..... mental spell(?) in play. like, he got mind controlled to kill her by some keyword.
or some kind of illusion and the one who killed her is actually someone else. maybe julian's chamberian who haven't show face yet or his brother in disguised of him? (since we only know these 2 for now, I doubt her dogs could pull it off ) and then "fake cyrus" yandere side went berserk when FMC told him that cyrus and julian is indeed love each others while she's lashing out.
Because at early chapter(I reread it) there's the part where FMC saw "secret meeting of cyrus and julian" then surprise how fast he come to meet her after that so the "cyrus" she saw could be fake one? and it might be her misunderstanding + julian did gaslight her + she got killed by "cyrus" that make her belived that cyrus isn't in love with her , which contradict to his flashback that he loved her since childhood.
Just my wild guess tho. so it might not even close to target lol.

As someone who caved in and read the novels, I can give some spoilers if you're interested
You in fact hit the bullseye. It's just as one of your choices has guessed (even both). So you find out from Cyrus (who as you've realized is a transmigrater like Tiana) the whole truth on her death. The "spells" he mentions is either sorcerers (who exist in this story) or cursed artifacts which Cyrus owns one. But there's another artifact that allows you to change your appearance using their blood which Julianne was able to get her hands on. She was able to get Cyrus's blood as a soldier constantly on battlefield to be able to transform into Cyrus to trick Tiana and kill her. She proceeds to do the same to trick Cyrus using Tiana's blood but Cyrus was able to see through it.
After he eliminates Julianne, he finds Tiana in her last moments before she dies. After holding her body for the whole night, he bets on his sword's legends (that he mentions at the start) for his wish to be granted, a second chance to save Tiana. He cuts Tiana's hand first before cutting his neck and suiciding which allows both of them to go back to the past and retain memories.
However they both had restrictions on (they come off once the criteria they set up are fulfilled); Cyrus unable to talk about his knowledge about the first life, and Tiana who you find out has selective memory loss. Tiana actually was only able to remember her fight with Cyrus (ch5) which the completely cuts into her death with "Cyrus". The reason why she has memory loss is because she believes the sword tried to grant her wish because in her last moments, she blamed herself and she believed her love for Cyrus caused him to be in danger. So the sword removed her memories where they made up to fit that narrative when she goes back to the past.
The actual situation was the fight happened, to which Cyrus regretted his words and came back a little later to apologize to Tiana and clear up the misunderstandings about him and Julianne. Her death actually comes some time later because Cyrus was trying to find evidence against Julianne because she's abusing her power to become Cyrus's partner and collaborated with the first prince (Isaac's big brother). She also has a sorcerer to protect her and cursed artifact on her side which makes things more difficult. However Cyrus grew desperate and only found proof that had her go to a covenant and not execution, while her brother becomes Duke. This bit back at them because you find out her brother was also part of this whole hoax which allowed Julianne to trespass the mansion and was able to use the artifact to adopt Cyrus's appearance and kill her.

So TLDR, yes you are completely correct that Tiana in fact got gaslit by the sword and Julianne, and got killed by "Cyrus" because it was in fact all Julianne's hallucination and obsession that ruined this couple and why Cyrus is so cautious and wary of this lunatic. (especially since this is the girl that actually killed his beloved)
