Didnt we already get a story of this girl in some past chapter? Apart from what we see on this extra, the girl got very hungry while staying there, she gave her the flesh without saying what it might do and the girl got eternal life she never wanted and couldn't die at all, she even suicide bombed the mermaid at some point years later and still was able to recover as we can see now.

Someone might correct me if im wrong but if i remember correctly then our mermaid is mostly at fault for breaking the girl by forcing immortality on her.
