More than a sequel, what this needs is a serialization that expands on everything we see in the one shot.

I like how the story came up for a solid reason for the girls to basically shut out everyone out of the world they created to protect themselves.

Having said that, that cliffhanger ending is extremely mean spirited. Like, yeah, they are basically adults at that point and their mother can't really do anything to stop them, but still that fall out won't be pretty.
