As much as I loved the 2000s scanalating scene since it felt far more passion driven, guys like you mentioned were also a nightmare to deal with. Most popular series get picked up somewhere which also helps but Baki was truly in hell for a while.

Won't happen ever since Google started cracking down on scanlators.
Also, even if it's not MTL it's still "a poor adaptation of the LN" because the manga is adapting things differently there's a lot of problem even JP readers who read the novel dislike some things the mangaka is doing while others support it. So it's quite divisive.

Cutting content of MC training and diving to focus on original content with the hero's party that no one likes and introducing original characters like Takeda from Class E is an example of it.
