God I hate this MC, the game story has already fallen apart, instead of being proactive and try to force it back into the best path, his solution is simply to do nothing! His reasoning is also fundamentally flawed, the natural state of any game is not the best ending, it's game over, it's the actions of the player that enable the story to completion, without any input from the player the natural outcome is failure.
