This didn't get axed because it wasn't published by a magazine. This is a web-comic. Web-comic are manga drawn by artists then they posted them themselves on the internet without any editor and publisher behind them. They are similar to doujinshi, fan-works. When a web-comic stops, it is usually because the artists got bored, or something happened to them. A web-comic I was follow stopped because the artist gave birth and was busy taking care of her child. Since this manga stopped so suddenly, maybe something happened to the artist.
