I don't really see how that'd be interesting unless it's either really short or the author gives them exclusive scenes of their time abroad, but I can only really imagine constant main story detours like that being really annoying, and if they do eventually come back, it would just feel forced and weird since most of the attachment to the character would've been lost due to their absence.

I can’t say whether Kang Lim is right or not. Dude will likely die dozens of times and watch the girls suffer or die as well. I can’t imagine the trauma of living that over and over again. So I respect Kang Lim’s decision. I do feel like that he is disregarding Sirin’s feelings but it is for the sake of her living so I understand.
