Weird behaviour both in main page and forum

Greetings, the two issues I found are related to closing tabs with Ctrl + W (I normally use hotkeys for everything) that only started recently, between last week and the end of the previous week:
First, I always open all the chapters I'm going to read from latest updates and afterwards read them, after closing one or two tabs the next window changes to fit the manga pages from "Fit Both" to "No Limit". In case I close that tab, it automatically applies to the rest of opened tabs and new tabs. I don't know if it's also related but depending on the time of day and the time I left the tabs open they automatically refresh after selecting them again.
Lastly, sometimes when I close tabs from the forum and it switches to a different forum tab, this one redirects to the main page without any command taken.
Technical information: Windows 10 (up-to-date, PC), Firefox latest version, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials + Adguard Adblocker.

In which way DDG causes trouble? Because it may be also an option for the default browser and even if I tell the extension to skip Mangadex there may be no changes.

just curios for me all my life Firefox tab closing has been Ctrl + W, is this language specific or a costume key-bind?

Personally I never suffer a tab refresh, do you have a plugin that puts to sleep unused tabs?... or maybe a memory issue

You don't use costume key-binds in the mangadex reader, right? I know that by default clicking "i" will change the image fit mode, No limit is after the Fit Both option in the cycle, changing settings in one tab will affect the remaining tabs.

I just realised I put "X" instead of W, you're right, I don't change the original hotkeys. I tried using other letters I could have had unintentionally typed that cause something, but it was not the case. I don't have any plugins related to that (just one for video and another for encryption, nothing rare), and my computer is neither old nor low-spec, so I disregarded any hardware cause.

Well those were my two suspects, something that is interfering with the normal hotkeys or even your keystrokes and something that puts your tabs to sleep to reduce memory usage. I'm currently on Firefox 129.0.2 for both my devices (Windows 11 - 16GB and Windows 10 - 8GB) and I have not experienced any issue, but I also don't use those plugins, so unsure if those are factors.

Also because you are on windows, how about installing Firefox portable from Portable Apps and test in there the behavior without affecting your main installation?

When pages for some reason don't work properly (normally because of a temporal issue) I use Brave, since I don't have any extension, restrictive privacy policy (except for trackers/pop-ups) or anything added there it usually behaves differently. Any way or another, if the issue persists I may use that browser instead, then I'd be able to compare. As for a portable version of Firefox... I'll take a look.

I didn't said DDG causes trouble. I said I don't use it.

Did you try to replicate it on fresh profile without addons? (That's actually first thing to troubleshoot browser)

It seems it has already been solved, after Monday I stopped having that weird behaviour without having to apply any changes. Mysteries of coding I guess. Sometimes it's a one-day (or two) thing and others like this time last for whole weeks. Anyway, thanks to the staff team to keep developing the web.

never noticed because I use Ctrl+tab and switch between latest tabs, but clicking 1 from the top number row, selects and directs you to the main website (the Home in the forum's side bar), 2 selects Forums, 3 selects What's new and 4 selects Members, so perhaps in this incident you clicked 1 alone or as part of a command... the keybinds works when you are outside of the reply box, because I use a TKL keyboard I'm unsure if the numpad section also has this keybinds

@HelperHand it already stopped but what I meant was that when I closed a forum tab with Ctrl + W sometimes the tab that the browser automatically chose to switch to redirected me to the main site, without pressing the 1 or any number. It wasn't me using Ctrl + Tab (I rarely use it, only when I need to switch between too several times per minute) and having my finger slip on the numbers or having it configured differently (I use the default hotkeys). I sincerelly don't know what could have been this time, there's another weird behaviour when loading the main page if I'm too hasty trying to go to log in: the page refreshes like a blink and unless I manually refresh again I can't open the icon to log in. That still happens to me but I'm not bothered since I got used to it and I avoid triggering it, you can try it with a private window and trying to log in before the page finishes loading.

Pues ni modo... what happened to you remains a mystery, at least your original issue was mitigated, right?

I think I was able to reproduce your login issue a few times (not all tries), when loading the page clicking the guest icon to display the login popup, it blinks and the icon is no longer able to open the popup (only in Firefox private mode, trying several times using hard refresh, not reproducible in edge in my case)

That's right, the original issue simply disappeared. As for what you tried, that's exactly it, I'm not sure if it would happen to me all the times but since I know how it triggers I simply wait for the page to completely load. I don't like to leave data so even in my own computer my Firefox sessions are configured to be private mode, so when there are signin or loading issues I have them multiple times (until it gets fixed or I bypass it).
