Don’t ask me to prove a negative, because I obviously can’t — but from my perspective this chapter is illustrating a sexual encounter that is beyond (or at least to them feels beyond) just standard intercourse, it’s not about the sex itself for them. it’s about the togetherness, the only depiction of standard “sex” (the BJ scene) is presented as something far less intimate (“Let’s go farther than we ever have before”) because that didn’t feel fulfilling like this connection does — every other depiction is abstract. i personally think it’s a great way to write this, but i could see how it seems pretentious to someone who doesn’t like this exploration in the first place like yourself

The author right now (or better last time i checked a mere few months ago) is notorious for strange moodswings and questionable mental state in japan, based on what he types on social media. That has been the case for quite a while now. It went way beyond his "search" for gender in real life. HIs fans are legitimately worried. Of course you don't get the full picture if all you know about him are the things he writes in his afterwords. Which were often interesting, but that is not the case with what he does on social media by any stretch of the imagination.

If you are not a story-telling genius or you don't know how to channel that artistically, it will negatively impact your work. And it did in this case. I don't know why you singled out me and my comments specifically, since many people were not happy with what the manga had become and expressed similar opinions as i did, but feel free to continue. You are not being annoying at all. Just because you like the themes in a manga does not mean that you should defend the manga itself when it deserves to get bad criticism.

As far as this manga is concerned, I guess it really just comes down to how it hit for you personally – there’s no real reason why my analysis is correct and yours isn’t, it’s just different takeaways

That is a very level-headed response. I did not expect and therefore i respect you for that, honestly. I might come off as harsh sometimes with the words i'm choosing but you were right to some degree; i was not happy how the themes were handled. It could have gone much deeper. What does it mean to be male? And a man? Let's explore masculinity that is not predetermined by the values of your society. Do we have to pick up biology? Or do we have to go even deeper than that?

It could have been very philosophical, but Oshimi-sensei dropped the ball hard and took the easy way out. I wonder if you would agree with the last part once you finish the ending. I was not happy at all.
