So until this point he's been thinking that the isekai is actually just a dream. I wonder if he was ever in a party where everyone was killed? He then wakes up in Japan, but the next night he learns that eveyone he's been with was still dead. That would really suck, to suddenly realize that those "characters" were dead in reality.
