Its nice that you filled a gap in the chapters for this series on MangaDex, but the reason why the other translator skipped Vol 8 & 9 (Ch. 35~46) is that the official English releases have been out for a while. The previous group dropped the series after the English releases were coming out from J-Novel, which is up to Vol. 9 (Ch. 47~51) now and the full volume release by 2024-12-25.

Not knocking on your work though as comparing to the official English your wording & word choice may be different (not a negative since at times they used some less common words on the official one that I'm not fond off at times) but the story is still the same.

Thing is, there's no rule or requirement here on MD for a series to be dropped just because it gets an official TL. Only thing that isn't allowed is posting official raws (be they JP or officially translated). Groups dropping series because of official TLs is entirely their personal decision, one I've found myself annoyed at in multiple cases where the official stuff is both paywalled and of subpar TL quality compared to the fan translation.

I also personally despise having to jump around multiple websites just to read one manga, so I fully welcome someone filling in the gaps (so long as it's not a garbage TL).

Gotta say, i don't understand this setting detail about food being bland in this world. Like, surely there have to be capable cooks around? Like this, it just feels like a weird "superior Japanese cuisine" flex.

Yeah, this is the case in every manga i've read so far, sometimes it really makes me want to skip the entire chapter
