What a weird thing to happen
Just...going around beating other monsters with what other would consider a monster, yet simply bailing on her as soon as they met other of her own species.
The implication isn't even that it was for a short while, but for at least a few months or something. How the fuck did that even happen? Were the "heroes" too spooked by how strong the others were and didn't expect she wouldn't run together with them?
This one is cutting too much context for me to actually feel anything, because of the implication that there should be more but we're being deprived of it specifically for the gut punch.

i think MAYBE they thought she'd turn on them and support her tribe, but the more likely answer is the now (but not so much when this was first written) common instance of they were using her for her strength and then bailed when seh wasn't needed properly thinking both she and her tribe would take each other out.
