Think about the beginning of the story. MC almost died a lot of times to random monsters because she didn't know how to use her power. Now she's restricting said power, which is still making her almost die a few times, because obviously, if she doesn't use that power, she can die. Everyone there could basically be squashed to death if MC tried, but she's doing her best to avoid that
