Whatever happened to Bonkotsu Shinpei No Monster Life?

I quite liked this series, yet only one volume ever got out, with a year of pause inbetween.
When I last checked, the raws also weren't any further, but also no information about it being on Hiatus, axed or whatever.
Does anyone know more about what is going on there?
Also, does anyone know a good tl of the novel? The only one I could find was a really horrid MTL.

That is, alas, because there was only the one volume, and it presumably got the ax. And searching for the title on Novelupdates should find you what you want.
