Not only does her mother disgust me, the fascination the mc has for her own mom, is even more frustrating.

I understand you completely, but I also understand MC. Sadly, MC has been raised by this mother to think of the mom as God. Essentially. That mom is a narcissist. She's manipulating her whole family like a little circus. Younger sister is a flying monkey for mom and the "golden child". While MC is the scapegoat who mom is using like a slave.
Its actually pretty horrid watching this as someone who went through this, with how excruciatingly detailed this is. Writer has definitely gone through it too, with how perfectly they're showing MC's thinking process. In MC's head, mom really hasn't done anything wrong. MC is still drinking mom's coolaid and I can't wait for her to wake up, because its gonna feel so good for mom to get what she deserves.
