I wonder if this manhua would be better if it had an actual translation instead of machine translation. I've seen the main character be called "Qian Lin", "Qiao Lie", "Qiao Lin", "Jolin", and "Joelle", often without capitalization. Plus a lot of other awkward or off bits. Should not have above an 8 like it does tbh, for that and other reasons

Why would this awful translation affects the work's rating? It doesn't make much sense when this is unofficial and you're not spending money.

Sorry lemme go learn Chinese so I can fully appreciate the literary prowess of this manhua in the full glory that it deserves. Like sure it shouldn't entirely be up to how good the translation is, and it's not, it's been like two years since that comment so I forget like everything but I did clearly say "for that and other reasons", so it wasn't the only thing. But either way, how the translation is has an effect on the enjoyment a reader can get from it, and if it's got an utterly dogshit translation then it's gonna feel shit to read and why would I rate something I found shit to read high just cause I know the translation is bad, maybe the original text is just as bad, probably not, but who knows.

Doing a quick skim of the first few chapters, other similar aspects are the image quality and watermarks, though both of which are easier to ignore than the translation because you can pretty readily tell it's not supposed to be as poor quality as it's presented here. But there's also like, the art and story in general not being very interesting, part of the story aspect there might just be down to the translation, but a lot of it isn't.
