When using the Tachiyomi reader APK, new chapters from mangadex are not loaded

As I stated in the title, when try to update my chapters, the only things that show results are other sources, when I view in the web browser, the new chapter shows but not in the interface of the reader itself. Yet when browsing the latest uploads of manga, it shows them fine, but it only shows the chapters I have seen so far in that list, no new chapters.
I have tried to fix this by changing image servers several times, cleared caches and cookies and have logged in on the website yet the issue still persists.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest stable version of the reader and all my sources and can't think of any more solutions

It would help a lot if someone could help out.
I really want to read manga again.

Will (probably) be fixed eventually. Maybe try another app.
