This is very late so dunno if you'll see it, but Mangadex had a bunch of issues and had to get reworked again ~3 years back into the version you see today. The transition process was pretty stretched out since of course it's all volunteer, and one of the things that took quite awhile to return vs just showing the manga was the forums. Manga that released during that period got zero comments here because there was no comment support period, and while the forums are back up and running beautifully now most people only comment when they're actively reading the chapters not years later.
