Why are blurbs so useless?

It doesn't matter if it's on mangadex or some other forum like myanimelist, most of the time the blurb/intro of a manga is just shit. It's convoluted and bizarre. It goes into details and descriptions when it should explain what's the big picture story is about. Sometimes the syntax is so messed up that it's hard to read in the first place. I don't have a clue why most manga come with such useless blurb. Any idea?

The title has replaced the blurb, and the blurb has replaced the summary.

90% of the synopsis out there are translated by a machine. If you combine it with how those same descriptions are often "broken" into "catchy" part like questions in the same vein as the "...unless?" meme, which a machine always trip over, you get the janky results you see.

As for the actual content, that is what the publisher gives and aside of a few bad practices — in that they sound cringeworthy rather than alluring — what you see is common practice even in the west.
