You don't catch a cold, just because it's cold... that's not how it works... You need to be exposed to the virus itself and it takes more than just a few hours after exposure before you start showing symptoms. It can take 2 to 3 days... Meaning she got the virus before leaving for the trip.

@HOOfan_1 After that they wonder why people don't understand how things actually work... Because we're lied to all our lives by movies, anime, manga, comics, etc...

@TetraSky

I remember an episode of the show "My Secret Identity" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Secret_Identity Where the MC's mom tells the MC to wear a coat out in the cold weather, or else he will catch a cold, and his professor friends says "nonsense, colds are cause by a virus, you may develop pneumonia by getting too cold, but you will not catch a cold merely by being cold."

@TetraSky You won't get a cold solely because it's cold, but it is true that the common cold spreads more easily in lower temperatures and it's also possible to start experiencing symptoms within ~10 hours, which seems plausible enough for the chapter.

@TetraSky It's just an anime/manga trope... take your brain out and enjoy the silliness.

@Hootanic But it's not just a trope. Being cold and even being wet generally weakens your immune system, and the main virus spreads more easily in cold environments. A large portion of people already have the virus in them at any given moment, they're just able to fight it until something else weakens them.

@mommunism Oh I'm aware of that, but it usually just make you more likely to catch a cold by decrease your immune system's responce time, not show symptoms of the cold a lot faster after exposure.
I'm not sure where you got that 10 hours timeline though, since other than one "doctor" in a Q&A on some random forum online I can't find anything that backs that up. I'm sure it's "possible", but I highly doubt that's the case here.
Especially because she's coughing, which is NOT the first symptom of a cold. A cold may start with a itchy throat, sneezing and fatigue, but certainly not outright coughing from the get go.
A cough when you have a cold, is caused by your nasal discharge dripping back down your throat during your sleep, irritating it further, which usually happen a few days AFTER the first symptoms.
It's blatant misinformation.

@TetraSky The 10 hour figure was from commoncold.org, and I don't even understand what you mean when you say you doubt it's the case here. How can you doubt probability in a fictional world? A full cough might not immediately set in, but the first stage of a cold pretty much always includes an irritated throat, which can lead to occasional coughing. Calling it blatant misinformation seems disingenuous to me. The manga isn't even supposed to be realistic, so it's certainly not intended to inform about reality, and even if it was this is at worst just an unlikely scenario (which is something the manga intentionally uses regularly).

Manga: Blatant foreplay, in a car.
Comments: Serious debate about cold.

I love this site and people in there. 😏

How the heck does one not wake up when someone's peeling off a tape down there?

Fingering her for the purpose of making the adhesive come loose.

God, ecchi is dumb and I appreciate it.
