All of the people reading this: Call your grandparents, your parents, or your uncles/aunts RIGHT NOW if you haven't in less than a month. I lost my uncle two months ago, and even though I have very fond memories of him, and I know he was proud of me, I still feel I didn't call/see him enough. The week during which he was in a coma, along with the hope that never manifested in his return, made me realize how much I should treasure the remaining people. Close mangadex now, and call the first person that comes to mind. Ask them how they are doing, tell them how you are doing and feeling, ask them a story, ... NOW.

@auriga I only shared it to give an idea that yuzuru might have survived the war in pearl harbor (based on real time data that japan won against america) despite her sister's warning that they'll lose. I wasn't trying to imply something bad about what I'd said between the countries mentioned, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Anyone else get the vibe that the older sister had romantic feelings for the brother

Possible plot twist: The brother survived, the sister did not.

It would be interesting if Yuzuru took his own life rather than being killed, he did go to Manchuria, and he is clearly not someone who agrees with the aggressive ethic of the Japanese military, so if he witnessed the massacre, it could be possible that he realized what his sister was saying and committed suicide. Anyway propaganda is without a doubt one of the worst elements of war, because that is where is all begins..

If I may everyone. As much as I'm in love with this series, the storytelling of Kaoru's other siblings is a bit off to me. Since it was already stated that Kaoru's family was pretty struggling (I mean, look at their house?) so it feels weird to find out the other siblings are doing way too well compared to their mother. And it raises questions like 'Did they not help financially' 'Were they not able to help fix the house?' We even get to know the eldest sis went abroad. Tho, it may be just me not being familiar with how things work back then.

And for binge readers, since this chapter is after the story of Kaoru's losing her grand/mother, seeing lil Kaoru happily talk about her siblings is kinda breaking my sad momentum from last chapter.

Still, this series does one thing right. Giving us more of the perspective of people got impacted directly by war when they're not even within the blast zone which a bit different direction from grave of fireflies

Also, unrelated. Man, Kaoru's fam sure are beautiful. Where can I buy that gene??

As always, thank you so much Citrus Project for the sl!
