Hopefully Finn and the "swords" show up. Cause only having one student "sword" to mop this up is a bit much. Plus maybe other magic knights/melee mages are effective, where the standard ranged mages aren't?

man I really have an issue with these stories.
I kinda agree that Will should not be hoping to get into the tower as he is not a mage but holy shit then make it impossible for him to even get into the academy in the first place!.
And now we will get the "we kinda need Will, but we are not going to face any repercussion for discriminating against him as he is a perfect good saint who would help everyone even though malicious actors are allowed multiple times to interfere with his dreams"
