@A-tan wouldn't say he hates kids; just the one he watches over. Probably one of those prestigious professors whose credibility was taken due to his failing pupil, thus making him look like an incompetent teacher and him have ire towards the student.

The student seems to respect him a lot rather than having disdain towards the teacher due to the teacher's constant complaints of his pupil, so the teacher might not be all bad(but stuck up nonetheless =01).

I also picked up the French version of it, and actually went with the limited edition since it came with a lovely artbook. It's small, same size as the manga, but it has a hardcover and high quality glossy paper; it's a really nice item to have as a fan of the series.

Looking forward to Riché's "alternative" clear method.
And I think the whole thing with the asshat professor is to show the run-of-the-mill variety, so far we've only really seen Qifrey and other kind hearted individuals like Orugio and the magic shop owner.
Makes you think what would have happened if Coco had been taken in by such a teacher.

@frubam Badmouthing your falling student in front of a crowd is not something any teacher should do imo. We don't know so far why the kid is so bad so I can't exactly blame it on the guy for being good or bad at instructing him, but surely from the looks of it If he puts that much importance on his reputation rather than the wellbeing of the kid (mental in this case; I mean clearly the kid has self esteem issues and he is not helping by humiliating him in front of other ppl), then clearly he is not suited to be a teacher.

Regardless, I do think is a fair point to show in the manga that not all the witches are good masters. Not even Quifrey is completely good from what we have seen so far.
