While it's easy to understand why some kinds of magic would be forbidden, I can't help but think that The way they control which spells should you learn are far more harmful than simply allowing the use of Forbidden magic in a more controlable manner. I mean the main problem is not the forbidden magic itself, but the people who might try to use it. And while it's easy to claim that absolute power corrupts absolutely. That's not always the case, some people can indeed have access to some sort of power(in our world it can only be political though) and manage to not be corrupt by it. I've personally met a Mayor who used money out of his pocket to supplement the capital available to his town in order to promote his city and ensure their schools would have better education. And by personally, I mean literally, the guy is such a chill guy that he's always doing rounds around the city and talking with pretty much anyone he meets along the way. Some of you may think it's nothing special I don't know. But in my country, to find a person like this, moreover a politician, is almost as hard as finding an UFO.

Yea, again. People would be much more compelled to use forbidden magic if brimhats weren't such dicks.
But at least they get one thing right: if little girl would become forbidden arts user people will flock to their side.
Then again, they have no idea how to appeal to a girl. Wtf with their blood tatoos and vaguely described immesurable powers, just grow some butterfly wings or turn porcupine into a unicorn or something. Transform thorny weeds into flowers at least. You don't need to go practical to charm little girls.

The arc ended well, altough I hate that Ritchie refers to her in third person I am glad to see her progress and her afection towards the wolf-guy.

I get the feeling that the best has yet to come.

@faniki Riche makes more sense to me. The added h is there probably just to tell English speakers that the "e" is pronounced as é (like in end, not like in eel). Riché could also work imo. For "Agathe", I'd say Agate (as in the type of rock) would make the most sense. It's pronounced ['æɡət] and both æ and ə are usually substituted with "a" in Japanese (the katakana spelling of her name is "Agatto")

Also Riche and Eunie are so goddamn adorable. :3 I want some more doggy greatness.

@rhino36 i know right. idk who decided those names and thought they looked right

@Sarumari. I prefer fan translation names as well. But for english speakers, i wonder why they couldn't keep riche as Riché. We have the word fiancé, so it shouldn't be too hard to pronounce. Agott is just...why. Makes her sound like a type of bug lol.

"All of you will file reports on what you saw here today."
"'I showed up at the last minute as the magical cavalry and beat the shit out of some furry evil Brimhat wizard who later got taken away by some other Brimhat freakshow. I don't know shit.' - This must be Orugio's report."
"Four reports of 'I didn't see anything.' - these must be the kids."
"'FUCK DA MAGIC POLICE! SUCK MY DICK! I DIDN'T SEE SHIT!' ...We can safely say that's Qifrey's..."

I love Coco immediately stealing the amulet. She's not even giving that guy's ranting the time of day.

@orochijes It's based on Illumination. In medieval times they would make everything all fancy and turn the letters and borders into pictures.

What people always seem to leave out of these hypothetical discussions is matters of scale. What could go right versus what could go wrong. Knives versus guns for example. Someone crazy goes on a knifing spree? They may badly injure some people, kill some, but they could be stopped relatively easily. Someone goes on a shooting spree? Well, we have fresh examples of that on an almost regular basis in the US, don't we?

Forbidden magic is exponentially worse than that. All it takes is one psycho, or even a well-intentioned person experimenting, and you could end a city, a continent. We saw what using that weird blood ink did when Coco just made a small, simple "turn rocks to sand" spell. Imagine what someone who actually wanted to do some damage could do.

Well, that sure tied up a nightmare of manipulation, madness and body horror in a cute little bow...
“All better now with the power of friendship”?
