Pretty annoying that scanlator drama's more eventful than the chapter itself. Thanks to the original crew for catching us up though; I honestly thought this series died years ago.
@Hasshi May I ask which translated parts you would have done differently? The names are way off the mark for sure and some parts sound a lil' rough which I don't mind too much but I've got no idea which parts are just not "correct." As a person with OCD it reeeeally~ bothers me. ( Ù__u)9
Also does your group plan to release this ch and any future ones that may get sniped somewhere? Does Manga Dex allow for different groups to upload the same ch so you can still post it regardless if there's one ver already there? Sorry for the long ramble-y questions I'm just in *worried fan mode* _3」∠)_
@Chowkeyo Sorry for the late reply, I don't check MD notifications that much. Well, as the translator for Witch Hunter, I can find a lot of spots where the translation is iffy. For example, the last page, the last bubble is supposed to be
"The snow is the barrier itself"
. That bubble is completely wrong. There are also other incorrect translations, such as page 14, when Tania says "Hmph, I guess I should be happy that you seem to view me as someone who has a reasonable sense of mind." This doesn't fit Tania's character at all, and it is not something Tania would say. I don't remember the exact translation, feel free to check out the release by Fire Syndicate. But you can tell that the translator (and proofreader, if there is one) doesn't care about Witch Hunter. Even if they forget names, which I do as well, there's a Witch Hunter fandom with all of the characters. I always check the Witch Hunter fandom and follow the character names on the fandom, but it's obvious that this translator did not. What low effort.

Mm, yea names are incredibly easy to check the books have them all officially translated and there's even character profiles for a lot of the main cast in the vols. Even if you don't have the books there's the power of Google....

Normally I love those and use them a lot but the Witch Hunter one is kinda strange to me tbh. Maybe I'm too nick picky but I've found some things there that are completely canonly untrue. Like for starters Cooga's name is listed as Cougar and I'm ?????? :^D His name gets translated as Kuga a lot even though in all my vols it's Cooga but since they're said the same it doesn't really matter much. I just wanna know where they got Cougar and some of the other questionable info from. I mean, at least it not nearly as empty as some anime fandoms I've seen that barely have anything there and it is mostly accurate but some of what's written on there reads like one person read a, official release of a page and someone else read a random scan ver of it that contradicts the former but they ended up both writing an article there.
