That fight was over surprisingly quickly, not that I mind.
And I certainly didn't have a thread-reinforced self-repairing carriage on my bingo card, but I guess it makes sense.
Although, as Mira Mira was thinking too, it's a bit weird for them to suddenly achieve something like this without any proper training or education. But maybe that's just the usual tropes getting to me, where mages have to train and master their abilities, while it's more instinctive/intuitive in this setting :thonk:

One of the most dynamic scenes, even if it was a bit short! I really like how the author conveys their ingenuity; Misa instantly makes the decision to get Roland's wheels out like a lifeboat, while Nona decides to wrap the carriage with threads. One of the better aspects of unconventional powers is the unique takes on their abilities. The manga really picks up when it focuses on the action.

The day when Nona discovers Kevlar is the day when it is over for the rest of the verse.

Nona committing vehicular demonoidslaughter was not something I was expecting, but hey: it works. She really is creative with her magic.

This chapter revealed that effective use of magic requires concentration... This seems like something carried over from the one-shot. It explains why Nona's determination makes her an unstoppable force of nature. I wonder then if Miramira's inability to hold Mevijilara for long periods of time is at least in part caused by her anxiousness, and if she can improve this in the future.

Now, the question is: where is Gheer?

Inventive magic use like this reminds of Jojo in the second best possible way, the first of course being posing, which I doubt Witchriv is ever going to match up on.
