Thanks for the chapter! I see Xu Jin is practicing with Xu Qing. She is gonna be one heck of a girl in the future. As for Shi'an... always getting an earful or questioned whenever there is progress in his relationship with Xiaoxiao.
Its kind of a pity that besides the fight where Xu Qing almost got stabbed, there wasnt really any chance to use(besides the streams) his martial arts. (Not wishing even for a fight, just use for something, even if its something really ridiculous like jumping house to house or doing the naruto run lol)
Nope last appearance was before the epilogue chapters, and we won't see any appearances going forward as well.
Anyway, this chapter adapts Epilogue Chapter 19-20 in the novel.
Here's some extra deets:
1) in the bus,
what they're doing wasn't handh*lding, but instead Shi An was playing with Xiao Xiao's hand and feeling how soft it was
2) Cop dad saw the young couple because
Shi An followed Xiao Xiao to the ground floor of her housing complex and saw her up the elevator
3) During the interrogation scene, there was a close-up panel of Shi An's mouth, not simply because he kissed Xiao Xiao,
but also because at that moment he was very conscious of his lips and licked the corner of his mouth. Meeting the gaze of his dad, Shi An suddenly realized that lipstick marks would give him away so he hurriedly wiped his mouth with his shirt sleeve, only to recall that Xiao Xiao doesnt wear lipstick, looking extra suspicious in the process
4) after Jiang He threatens to put Shi An on Uncle Wang's wheelchair, Jin quips
"remember to give me a spin as well, it's pretty speedy"
5) another appearance of Beetle the turtle was omitted again.
While Xiao Xiao was sleeping, the family ate watermelon. Jiang He stored a portion of watermelon in the fridge. Xu Qing ate while playing with Beetle's shell. Jin ate while scrolling on her phone and found a blog post/web article saved by Xu Qing authored by username "Im not Jiang He". (Forgot which chapter this is a reference to) She locked in and read the essay only to burst out laughing before controlling herself. She asked Jiang He if she wrote that essay which was referred to as a horror story in the novel, and Jiang He adamantly denies. Jiang He claims that it was Xu Qing who wrote it but Jin obviously doubts that. Regardless, Jin has to agree when facing the threatening expression of her mother. Jin resumes reading and cannot help but exclaim when she identifies her father in the story telling another character that there are no ghosts in reality. She gets carried away and dumps doses of smug on Jiang He, resulting in Jiang He calling in reinforcements (aka forcing Xu Qing to confess that he was the actual author to shut Jin up)
. Shi An tried to sneak back into his room in the wake of this chaos.
