Is "licking someone" some kind of figurative phrase in Chinese that means taking care of the person? Did I miss a translator's note or something? He wouldn't straight up say that he wanted to lick her literally?
So in chapter 122 Jiang He remembers and thinks about this conversation and, no, it seems that literal licking was meant here. Weird flex, but OK.

This chapter directly references a prior conversation when it points to the chibi version of him talking about becoming the one you hate. Its referring to bootlicking, or the Chinese equivalent of "dog licking," which was brought up several chapters back. He probably does want to actually lick her, but it was meant as a pun here
