So...
They broke up, some time after this "Cat" entered Gf's/their apartment and was lying in a pool of vomit (page 35) and GF then states the page 5 line upon seeing her. At this point she clearly is quite delusional, probably not taking her meds and maybe even suffering from delirium tremens, hence the whole cat delusion. Eventually the gf realised this wasn't okay, she broke up with Cat for a reason and now taking care of her once more like a child or a pet isn't fine and ended up committing her to a mental hospital (without providing proper contact info, how is that possible!?!) after - presumably - her mother had come to pester her about it. Then Cat escapes and ends up wandering around until she falls to her death.
Bit sad towards the new partner, since I bet she was already with her while this whole episode took place. I'm basing this off on how they moved in together after "several days" of placing Cat under care.

An interesting read and a lot of environmental story telling, ie. the piano having been covered up and turned into just a decoration/shelf, a clear sign of not been in use for a good while.

Also, in the breakup scene where Qiangyi is confronting A'Wu about her alcoholic tendencies, Qiangyi is the one holding a bag full of beers.

Makes you wonder about who's to blame between the one with a drinking problem and an (unwitting?) enabler. Or maybe it's just not possible to blame any one person because these things are usually a vicious cycle.

I really like the cat analogy, i think it's the most suitable analogy the author could have gone with. People bend over backwards for cats no matter how much they scratch, knock things over, or act temperamental, and yet they’re still adored. Just look at the internet—it’s all cat videos and memes. So it makes sense that the MC sees herself that way, expecting unconditional love from her girlfriend despite all her baggage. But of course that expectation is delusional, it’s exactly why she ended up the way she did and she should've really taken her meds.

Furthermore, the use of colour and space serves to place the reader in the dream-like perspective of A'Wu. In many panels, the point of focus is concentrated on specific subjects while the rest of the surrounding world fades out. Exploring further, the progression of colour throughout the story emphasizes A'Wu's self-reflection. Cats are unable to see the same richness of hues and saturation that humans can. This perspective within A'Wu is developed as the story progresses. In the beginning, the colours are very vivid; A'Wu recognizes her humanity, her responsibilities. But that vividness begins to fade; she's accepting her transformation by shedding her autonomy and becoming reliant on Qiangyi. Also everytime she remembers her human life the colour come back (the part where she delves into her memories is a good reference). Anyway I could've made this more concise and focused but my mind is not functioning right now, sorry for the long read.

The way I see Qianyi "moving on" so fast is that she didn't see A'wu as her partner anymore. In the news we learn that A'wu's parents passed away so A'wu likely didn't have anyone other than Qianyi to take care of her or willing to take care of her. Since they've been in a relationship for 7 years, Qianyi felt guilty abandoning her so she started taking care of her, not like a partner but more like a parent and since Qianyi's mother knows about it and is really not happy about A'wu still staying with her and Qianyi "playing house and mothering a grown woman". From this we can deduce that this has been going on for a while.

Qianyi likely stayed with A'wu to take care of her because she had no one else but she checked out of that relationship long ago. When Qianyi hears the news of A'wu passing away, she cries from one eye (and right one at that) which often symbolizes happiness. This could be taken as her finally feeling free and being able to move on, feeling relief that A'wu can finally rest from her sickness or both. The fact that she is moving in with the girlfriend likely means that she's been with her for some time now. The girlfriend doesn't seem to know about A'wu and idk how Qianyi could've kept her a secret but that really doesn't matter that much honestly.
