I think the eldrich stuff in his "mind" is simply because he read a lot of books in his bookstore
He read a lot of books from his own bookstore because he has a lot of free time because of the lack of clients
But we all know what those books truly are, in fact, he's the only one who sees them as normal books
It's likely because of his "knowledge filter" or whatever that Silver explained in his latest dream
So maybe he actually obtained the knowledge of all those powerful books, but since he doesn't "realise" it, it's simply stocked somewhere inside him

Unfortunately for femboy chuuni here, an infinitely small part of the Infinite Eldritch Truth is still an infinite amount of Eldritch Truth.

He's very lucky and very good to survive that with any semblance of sanity.

We also have to remember Lin's original wish to Inky
He wanted "all the books in the world" or something close to that.
Inky being the monkey paw fan that it is, gave Lin an infinite bookstore filled with every book that has ever existed, will exist, may exist or even cannot exist.
And all of that "belongs" to Lin
Fortunately Inky is very fond of Lin, and is seemingly protecting him from everything, including the Eldritch Gods that are some of the books in the store

The MC was Isekai´d but the shadow of the library.
And whatever the fuck "that" shadow is have been protecting the MC from the start.

It have so far been implied to be semi-malignant or just extremely vindictive eledrich creatures.
It does seem to regularly overwrite every book the MC gives out into extremely magical artefacts that are somewhat related to whatever the MC was actually going to lend out to fulfil the customer's desires.
But 90% of the time they fulfil the desire of the MC by monkey pawing the fuck out of anything he does lend out.

But it has also on occasion done supposedly purely "helpful" things.
And the more hostile you are towards the owner, the harder it's going to monkey paw you for even the slightest thing.
The student who wanted to arm wrestle to test her strength got a set of books to become smarter like the MC wanted.
But it did it in a way that brainwashed her into doing nothing else but study until she fainted from exhaustion.

While the evil mage, the "young" merchant guild elf and the hunter just got a free powerup with no side effects.
(other than extreme devotion towards the MC which could be potential mind control )
Since none of them showed any hostility towards the MC.
