It feels very much like an old tribal myth. Dreamlike, with its own internal logic at play. The part where she cuts her way out of the wolf's belly is especially arresting in how it ignores modern spatial sense. She's depicted as being inside and, simultaneously, outside the wolf; a clunky, deliberate choice by the artist(s) to affect a "primitive" mode of storytelling.
