Oh hey I remember this. Honestly, I don't think Helvetica Scans' original translation was bad, it's just a rather awkward joke to translate into English, and even my alphabetical version seems pretty forced in retrospect. But then the whole point is that it's a forced dad-joke tier pun, so iunno.

"P-chan" doesn't carry the joke either, since it necessitates that note at the bottom just to understand what you were going for, rendering the point moot.

Why not just go for a play on phonetics instead? "Skew-chan" or "Screw-chan" would've worked just fine and would actually be kinda humorous. Or you could be a rebel and do "Haikyuu-chan". Anyway, something that is immediately obvious and not a lot of mental effort for a disappointing pay-off.
