Hes a fucking push over. He is literally letting that old hag pull him around as she likes on top of letting her get used to his power when shes near him. I've no clue wtf the author is thinking with all this but i truly hope that if she does turn out to be too much trouble she somehow dies or it all backfires on her because at this point he isn't even living as he likes and just lets everyone order him around instead of thinking for himself and the kind of influence his position brings.

@magnetsmangadex He can't built things from scratch, only modify close replicas. He's got no way to teach people how to build rocket engines or rail guns, therefore he's got no way to get them into orbit.

I always see this angry sentiment from everyone who tries to use manga MCs as a versatile self-insert for escapism and power fantasy. It's a little sad.

He has some fondness and trust in her. He's a newbie in this world, and knows very little. He has people who act as advisors, and she can be considered one of them. She's working for the good of Gazetta, and he also wants Gazetta to prosper - partly because he wants ALL the people to prosper and unite in harmony, it's also the country of his friend. He's not a mindless child just because he goes along with people who have similar goals to him but need his support. What he's doing helps him, and from his facial expressions and questions seems like he's wary of being pushed into a trap that'll hurt him or his goals.

So give it a rest. Let the man handle his business. He doesn't have to be some macho Rambo man flinging around edgy ass lines and chuuni-mode rebellion, or murder anyone who wants his help but refuses to kiss his ass. He's not a king. Despite the moniker, he's not even a god. He's a dude with unique abilities and an approachable atmosphere, with a decent head on his shoulders. If going along with Lolibaba there helps prevent a civil war and unnecessary bloodshed, then how is that a bad thing so long as it doesn't harm the other nations or himself/his friends? No different from taking a quest from an NPC. Chill, not every manga/manhua MC needs to be a selfish, self-centered, imperious, arrogant, stupid asshole. They can be kind and careful, too.

So just because i get upset of the fact that he still isn't thinking about anything he does being used against him politically and the fact that they haven't even signed any sort of treaty yet to signify they'll accept the peace means i want him to be an edgelord? I'm not self inserting whatsoever, I just want him to be more politically minded due to the fact that the whole thing is practically politics now at this point. The factions are there that don't want peace and yet he's still going around getting involved without thinking of the consequences and it always turns out fine because hes the literal OP MC. I have no regrets in wanting this to be more. As for the old lady, his soldiers even warned him about her getting too close and realizing more about his powers in a previous chapter and it was even hinted in this one when he hesitated in telling what he saw until she pointed it out herself. So no, that doesn't make her an advisor to him that makes her a person with political power equal to the king of that country and with more knowledge on how to handle his power which means shes a potential threat. I'm not even asking him to be an asshole at all I just want him to get used to the fact his influence is beyond what he realizes.

@Kayriel It certainly help when you keep in mind the dude's Japanese. So, the word "No" doesn't basically belong to his vocabulary, aside from being used in articles addressed directly to no one.

Btw, how does that "self-insert" work in your opinion? I'd be willing to bet half of my savings on 90% of the readers doing worse than the MC if isekaied into the same situation. So, can you really say it's self-inserting when in actuality they wouldn't be acting any better (from their pov here in the comment section) or maybe they'd do even worse? I'm also counting in that 99% those who actually would act like douches but would basically end up failing at pretty much everything. You sometimes see people calling for a character to conquer the world and other such nonsense, and it's my favourite pastime to point out how it's not worth it. Conquering the world alone would be an annoying and tiresome task, but still a thousand times more annoying would be to keep the world conquered. That's where those who call for the most dramatic actions would fail even if they had the guts to try it.

While I do think Yuusuke should assert himself more, it's not because I'd want him to do everything differently but because in a more primitive world that's the proper way to gain respect and make sure nobody views you as a tool. It doesn't mean he shouldn't seek a comfortable life as a part of a society, surrounded with people who he can call friends or even lovers. That's what most people need for their mental health and happiness, after all. Nonetheless, we have seen he won't actually be happy unless he finds a purpose for his powers. Meeting all these people and learning about the world is his way of looking for that purpose.

TL;DR of previous comments:
MC is pretty much a tool for his surroundings to use. Bends over more than grass to the wind.

Can't bring myself to disagree to be honest.

if mc is a tool, i'm ok with that

asserting himself more kind of seems out of character for him to do

as far as I know he's just a guy who wants to make some things and stuff and maybe complete his purpose in life

Thanks for the chapter. Keep up the good work! It's always fun to see where this pachinko ball of an MC falls.

> Hahaha, I thought MC will create an elevator instead... He broke my common sense by carrying greatest grandma loli instead... What a fearsome courageous MC this is...

> Grandma Loli: "Serakani was a Big man with a head resembling a dog"
I wonder how Serakani leave this world. I bet FBI was involve.
The last secret love letter he wrote to grandma loli was kept hidden after all, due to fear it might be confiscated by FBI...

> Lending MC's knowledge to grandma loli... I approved.

@Kaarme its no wonder most Korean and Chinese manhwa/manhua are about revenge or being broken OP and showing off. Probably something to do with their country history.

@Pen3 I feel like the heavy revenge emphasis in xianxia must have some roots in the old Chinese culture. Being OP makes sense in that genre since it's about martial arts and becoming immortal. I have read so many different kinds of manhwa that I'm not sure it's any more exceptional there than in manga.
