Doesn't seem like the author is really trying to make it a big twist or suprise, but it seems like our MC was gifted the necklace by the real heir, who most likely asked her to get revenge on her behalf with her identity as compensation

If my assumption is true i wonder how the real heir got to be apart of Black Velvet?
