The artist clearly studied Nakatani carefully and respectfully, and would have every reason to be proud of the results. But Nakatani's profiles are the real tell in her work, and this artist hasn't come all that close in that regard.
Nakatani has a distinctive way of drawing profiles; not unique in general appearance, but still distinctive. And it might be the least realistic aspect of her art. In any case, they have a distinctive combination of proportions and curvatures.
