At first reading I kinda missed the panel when Sayaka reaches out to Touko hiding in the back. Upon reread I noticed the first time Touko talks about Sayaka, she said how Sayaka doesn’t pry and know about the Touko hidden behind the facade of perfection. But here Touko finally realizes Sayak saw through her all along. Nice callback.

Probably my favorite chapter. So complicated and messy, but there is so much tenderness coming from Sayaka, a level of honesty and outward affection that she just has never shown before, despite the fact that she always seemed capable of it. Every single chapter she gets is a joy to read and how her feelings slowly develop on the side on this much bigger story about identity is pretty well done. While her reading of Touko's character is more flawed than Yuu's, a lot of it does seem to stem from her knowing Touko since before, she doesn't have an "outside perspective" on Touko as Yuu does. As a rival character in a GL manga, she is as good as they get.
