So guy killed himself because he was heartbroken? Youd think he would be a little more surprised that he actually travelled back in time

No, his words seem to imply that the time leap was his intent and that he came prepared.

(He still technically has “killed himself”, but in the future that stopped existing for him at the same time.)

the character’s motivation and means are somewhat unique
Not quite unique.

If the premise here is “some brat will struggle to raise in the shadows and become a young and promising (albeit somewhat ruthless) leader of the very best gang in the neighbourhood because he needs to save a girl in the future” (and it surely looks exactly like that after the first two chapters), then we could say that it really seems like “Toukyou 卍 Revengers but in a fantasy world with magic” whenever we need an analogy.

I mean the scope of this seems to include nations so I doubt it stops at gang warfare.

And I also stipulated “somewhat”, I wouldn’t call any regressor story unique in 2025.

The ages and time are confusing me.

She was over 300 years old when she died? Or has it been over 300 years since her death? But her family fell out of favor 300 years ago, so... :questionblob:

He spent 10 years preparing to travel back in time 17 years to his younger self, to when he's apparently 15, but looks younger then 10... :questionblob:

No way he could be referring to his age in the first couple of pages. If he was 15 there, then why would he turn back the clock 17 years, to before he was even born? Yeah, he probably said he was 5 but they tl'd it wrong. He's between 5 and 10. He's definitely not 15. Heck, he's only half the size of a tiny framed

He probably said he was 5 y/o but it got tl'd improperly. He's between 5 and 10. He's definitely not 15. He's only half the size of a tiny framed woman, ffs😅.
